Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) is a national society that welcomes membership of people of all racial and ethnic groups to participate in agricultural and related sciences careers. To accomplish its goals, MANRRS promotes the academic and professional advancement of its members.

The University of Georgia chapter continues the mission of MANRRS by providing its student members with opportunities to engage in community service, leadership and professional development and networking at regional and national conferences. UGA MANRRS members have won national research competitions and served as national officers for the society.

MANRRS provides students opportunities to learn about resume writing, study abroad and research. MANRRS also sponsors programs to recruit minority students to the CAES through active involvement with the Young Scholars Program and through the bi-annual Georgia DAZE brunch, a program for minority students who have been accepted to UGA.

With Young Scholars, MANRRS students have served as peer mentors, chaperones for international trips and participants on student panels. MANRRS educated Latino students in Hall County about pre-collegiate and collegiate opportunities at CAES.

Community service is an integral part of MANRRS, and students have participated in the annual Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful Rivers Alive event. MANRRS students have also tutored in the Clarke County School District. Several MANRRS students are also involved in undergraduate research.

MANRRS is actively involved in Ag Hill events and has participated in the Ag Day at Tate, South Campus Kick-off and South Campus Sexy events.

The current executive board at UGA is Christine Akoh, president; Isis Vera, vice-president; Stephanie Guzman, treasurer; Natalie Lett, secretary; and Ariell Lawrence, historian.
