James K. Epperson
2012 D.W. Brooks Award for Excellence in Teaching
Department: Agricultural and Applied Economics
James E. Epperson is an agribusiness professor and researcher at the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences' Athens campus.
He has received several teaching and research awards, including the Gamma Sigma Delta Senior Faculty Teaching Award of Merit, the Gamma Sigma Delta Senior Faculty Award of Merit for Research and the J.W. Fanning Distinguished Professional Award.
Epperson has been recognized for outstanding teaching six times by the Agricultural and Environmental Economics Club and three times by the Agricultural Economics Graduate Student Association.
He has served as the agricultural economics graduate coordinator three times and has served as major professor for 10 doctoral students and 19 master's degree students.
Epperson has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, with his graduate students and as sole author, and over 100 of his peer-reviewed papers have been selected for presentation at scholarly meetings.
